Features
Built for the road
No bloat. No features designed to justify a subscription. Just the tools a motorcyclist needs to plan, record, and share rides — with the people they actually ride with.
Routing that learns from riders
A community-built map of where the genuinely good roads are — free to use and free to contribute, on every tier.
Rate the roads you ride
Loved that ridgeline? Hated the chip-seal? Rate any road or segment on a completed ride. Real judgment from real riders — the thing pure map geometry can't see.
Ratings improve routing for everyone
Your ratings feed back into route scoring — Twisty, Scenic, and the rest. The more riders rate, the better routing gets at finding great rides, for the whole community.
Free on every tier
Contributing to and benefiting from the road database is never paywalled. It works the same whether you're on Free, Rydr, or Premium.
Be a founding contributor
The map is just getting started, so the earliest ratings shape it the most. Rate the roads you know and help build the map of where the best riding is.
Anonymous by design
Contributions are opt-in and off by default. Traces are map-matched on our servers and the original trace is discarded — we keep the road-segment rating, never the trip, the GPS, or who you are.
Rate on any completed ride
Add a segment rating to any ride you've finished. Aggregated and anonymized, then fed back into route scoring.
Ride Recording
Every ride, captured. Real stats, real history, real privacy.
Real-time stats
Speed, distance, duration, elevation — visible during the ride on a glanceable HUD.
Background GPS
Recording continues when the screen turns off. No gaps in your track.
Pause & Resume
Pause manually when you stop for gas. Or set it to auto-pause when you've been stationary for 90 seconds.
Time tracking
Separates time moving, time stopped, and time paused. Actual ride time, not clock time.
Photo attachment
Attach photos to a ride at the point where you stopped to take them. Pinned to the route trace.
Visibility control
Set rides to public, friends-only, or private. Public rides appear on your profile; private ones stay on your device.
GPX & KML exportRydr
Export rides in GPX or KML format. Import into Komoot, Google Maps, or any GPS device.
PDF map exportRydr
Generate a printable PDF of your route with key stats. Good for trip planning or sharing with non-riders.
Elevation chart
Completed rides show an elevation profile across the route. See where the hills were.
Ride history sync
Your full ride history stays on-device on every tier, with no cap. Paid plans add unlimited cloud backup across devices; the free tier's cloud backup covers the last 20 days.
Group Riding
PremiumFirst-class group features for real-world group rides.
Shared destination
Leader sets a destination; everyone routes there their own way. No following a single line. Everyone's navigation still works.
Real-time positions
See where every member is on a shared map. Live positions, not last-known.
Auto-regroup
App detects when the group has spread too far and alerts the leader. No more wondering if someone's behind.
Where's the Group
Glance view showing all member positions relative to your position. One screen, no digging through menus.
Group chat
In-ride and pre-ride chat. Persistent history so latecomers can see the plan.
Trouble alerts
One tap to broadcast — mechanical issue alert. Group knows without a phone call.
Crash detection integration
If a member's crash detection fires during a group ride, the group sees the alert.
Wait mode
Leader can pause the route and hold the group at a waypoint. Useful at tricky junctions or while waiting for fuel.
Scheduled rides
Set a date, time, and destination in advance. Public scheduled rides appear in Discover for other riders to find and join.
Group Trips
A container for multi-day rides. One persistent chat, a shared photo album, and aggregate stats across all rides within the trip.
Safety
Free. Because your safety isn't a premium feature.
Crash detection
Detects sudden deceleration and impact patterns consistent with a crash. Sends an alert to your emergency contacts with your location if you don't respond within 30 seconds.
Safety SMS
Sends a text with your live tracking link when you start a ride. Your contact doesn't need the app.
Customizable templates
Write your own message. Change the tone, add context, set different messages for different contacts.
Per-contact assignment
Assign specific templates to specific contacts. Your spouse gets a different message than your riding buddy.
Live tracking link
Generates a web link your contact can open in any browser to see your position in real time.
Auto-message on arrival
Sends an automatic confirmation when you reach your destination. Closes the loop without a separate phone call.
Privacy
Local-first architecture. Your rides stay on your phone unless you choose otherwise.
Local-first recording
Rides are saved on-device by default. Cloud sync is opt-in per ride, not automatic.
No advertising SDKs
Zero third-party advertising libraries. Not Adjust, not AppsFlyer, not Firebase Analytics.
No data selling
We do not sell or license ride data to third parties. That's it.
Anonymous road database
Community road ratings are opt-in and off by default. Contributions are map-matched server-side and the original trace is discarded — we keep the road-segment rating, not the trip. More on this above.
Data export & deletion
Request a full export of your data or delete your account entirely from within the app. Processed immediately.
Social
Friends, shared rides, and discovery — without the feed.
OpenRydr Friends
Mutual friend connections. Both riders must accept. No follower/following asymmetry by default.
Friends-only visibility
Share rides and routes with friends only. Not public, not private — the middle option.
Share rides via link
Public and friends-only rides generate a web preview link (openrydr.app/ride/[id]). Share in any messenger.
Share routes via link
Saved public routes get their own share link. Recipients can open it in the app or preview on the web.
Saved Ride ListsRydrSoon
Curate lists of rides and routes. Share a list with a single link. Good for "roads in Colorado" or "my favorite loops." Rolling out soon.
Discover
Tab showing your activity, friends' recent rides, and publicly scheduled group rides near you.
